Sunset Overdrive developer Insomniac Games, has let the cat out of the bag so to speak and has indicated that their upcoming Xbox One exclusive will be able to be pre-ordered and downloaded prior to release date. No more waiting in line for midnight releases anymore.

Talked about as an upcoming feature on the Xbox One, it looks like Sunset Overdrive will be one of the first games that will be available for digital pre-order. If you do happen to pre-order the digital download version, you will get the “Day One Edition” with the Day One Edition content if you opt for the digital download pre-order.

Since the game is being released on October 28th, we suspect that Microsoft must be more than pretty close to green lighting digital download pre-orders. As for a discount for buying the digital download version, there will be none. It will be the same retail price no matter if you opt for the digital download or the retail box release.
