More layoffs at Abit

The end is nigh

It looks like things at Abit have taken a turn from bad to worse, as the company has laid off even more staff, according to TweakTown. Considering that Abit had a fairly strong line-up of products at Computex, despite the introduction of a digital photo frame come printer, it seems like things continue to go in a downward spiral.

According to the story at TweakTown, abit has laid off some 3-4 people from every department and considering that their office looked nearly empty the last time we visited them, one has to wonder who is left. That would also explain the recent move to a smaller office in a more affordable area of Taipei.

Most of the people in charge of the products that made Abit such a great motherboard company are all gone and are reportedly now working for Foxconn and Biostar, although we know that some are also at DFI and other motherboard manufacturers.

It will be a sad day when Abit finally closes its doors, but it seems like it's almost inevitable the way things are going, as with no staff left, it's hard to make and sell any products. It's not an unexpected end to this once great company, but it is indeed a sad turn of events.
