The 1000H and 701SD

It appears that Asus isn't going to stop launching new Eee PC models anytime soon, and the 1000H has just appeared on its Website. It might look like it's the same as the 1000HD, but the two are quite different. The 1000H uses an Atom processor, while the 1000HD uses a Celeron processor.

Both models have a 10-inch display, rely on the same Intel chipset, have 802.11n WiFi, an 80GB hard drive and a 1.3Megapixel Webcam. However, the 1000H has Bluetooth built in and also comes with Dolby Sound Room certified audio.

The 1.6GHz Atom N270 processor is also meant to improve the battery life over the 900MHz Celeron 353 processor in the 1000HD and Asus claims 4.2 to 7h battery life for the 1000H compared to 3.2 to 5h for the 1000H. This is a massive improvement, but it's still not quite as good as the Eee PC 1000 with SSD, which Asus claim is capable of up to 8h on a single charge.

The other model we've dug up some very early info on is the 701SD. We're not sure if the SD in the name is suggesting that it will rely on an SD card for storage, or if it's similar to the Acer Aspire One in that it'll have a second SD card slot in addition to the multi-format memory card slot which will allow you to keep an SD card in it for additional storage.
