Watch Dogs no longer 1080p 60fps on PS4?

by on13 May 2014

If something changed, no one wants to talk about it

The Watch Dogs page on Sony’s site has undergone a little change. The game is no longer listed as running at 1080p 60fps as one of the selling points of the game.

Prior to its removal the site listed one of the highlights with the following wording – “Hack everything as you make your way through Chicago's underground as you experience Watch Dogs in a way that only PS4 can provide, at 60 Frames Per Second in 1080p.” That has now been changed to drop the 1080p 60fps comment.

As to why this has been changed, no one seems to be talking in either the Sony or Ubisoft camps. As far as we know, so far Ubisoft has provided no resolution or frame rate info for either the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One version of the game. Watch Dogs is slated for release on May 27th in North America and May 30th in Europe. It is possible that we will have to wait till then before we know more about this resolution and frame rate issue, but we have to suspect that none of the versions to be released will be running all of the time at 1080p at 60fps, but that is just a guess on our part.
