Six of the movies initially, more to follow

October will be a big month for James Bond fans who have been waiting for 007 to be available on HD. Six of the Bond films will make their way to Blu-ray on October 20th, according to reports.

The first six titles will include Dr. No, From Russia with Love, Thunderball, Live and Let Die, For Your Eyes Only and Die Another Day. The Bond Blu-ray releases will be available as separates or in two three-pack Bond Collections to be called James Bond Blu-ray Collection Three-Pack: Volume 1 and James Bond Blu-ray Collection Three-Pack: Volume 2.

As you might have suspected, the James Bond Blu-ray Collection Three-Pack: Volume 1 will contain Dr. No, From Russia with Love and Thunderball; and the James Bond Blu-ray Collection Three-Pack: Volume 2 will offer Live and Let Die, For Your Eyes Only and Die Another Day.

While we don’t know all of the features to be contained in these Blu-ray offerings, we suspect that most of the same extras that have been present in the previous Bond DVD releases will be recycled for the Blu-ray offerings.

Word also has it that Sony is hard at work on a special Blu-ray Deluxe edition of Casino Royale that is rumored to be released around the same time as the other Blu-ray releases.
