Titanfall for 360 expected to sell 10 million

by on31 October 2013

Development not being rushed in make date

EA isn’t rushing the development of Titanfall in order to make its announced release date. EA said during its recent investor call that with the decision of Ubisoft to move the release date of Watchdogs, it presented EA with a unique situation.

Developer Respawn is said to be ahead on the development of Titanfall on some things and have been doing an excellent job adhering to a very rigid schedule. Sources tell us that they believe that Titanfall will not slip and ship on the announced date.

While the focus of Titalfall is naturally on the Xbox One version of the game, the money will be made on the Xbox 360 version which EA thinks could sell as many as 10 million units. Titanfall required significant investment from EA. EA will split the take with Respawn while the developer will retain the rights to the IP. With such a significant buzz surrounding the game, both EA and Respawn need to get it right in order for it to achieve the sales numbers that both the developer and publisher are expecting.
