Asus unveils 10.1-inch Transformer Book T100

by on13 September 2013

Bay Trail-T and Windows 8.1 for US $349

Asus already announced quite a few products at IFA 2013, but it looks like it left the Bay Trail-T equipped 10.1-inch Transformer Book T100 for Intel Developer Forum 2013.

As noted, the Transformer Book T100 is built around a 10.1-inch 1366x768 IPS screen and powered by a quad-core Bay Trail-T Z3740 Atom CPU paired up with 2GB of RAM. It runs on Windows 8.1 OS and will be available in 32 and 64GB versions. The rest of the features and specifications include a free year of Asus' own WebStorage, microSD card reader, micro-USB, micro-HDMI and USB 3.0. Of course, as it is a member of the Transformer family it comes with the Transformer keyboard dock.

According to Asus, the Transformer Book T100 should offer up to 11 hours of battery life. Asus' CEO Johnny Shih noted that the T100 is a "transformation" of the Asus EeePC line and by the looks of it, Asus did really well this time. The new Bay Trail-T CPU should provide enough performance for a 10.1-inch device and price of US $349 for the 32GB version and US $399 for the 64GB one does not sound that bad.
