Windows RT tablets head for bargain bin

by on16 August 2013

How about a Surface RT for €222?

Windows RT might be a headache for Redmond, but it’s starting to look like a boon for bargain hunters in Europe.

Microsoft already slashed the price of the Surface RT and practically every other vendor is already offering substantial discounts on their RT offerings. German tech site DrWindows.de has compiled a rather amusing list of Windows RT bargains.

One big retailer has a limited time offer on the Surface RT 32GB, which is going for just €222, down from a list price of €329. Media Markt is selling Dell’s XPS 10 for just €220 and in case you’re after 3G connectivity, the Asus Vivo Tab RT is going for €300.

As if that wasn’t enough, we found another one. Samsung’s Ativ Tab 32GB is now selling for €283, down from €550+ just six months ago.

They’re all very cheap indeed, but we’re not sure we can recommend any of them. It depends on your needs really. Windows RT could be great for some people, especially with Outlook, but it’s not for everyone.
