Nvidia Ann Arbor tech centre wants to drive us mad

by on06 August 2013

Wants more Tegra infotainment systems

Nvidia has opened a new technology centre in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The centre will be a dedicated automotive office, which means it should handle some aspects of infotainment development.

Nvidia already supplies chips for infotainment systems used in some Volkswagen Group vehicle, namely Audis. They don’t come cheap, but optional extras on Audis usually don’t – they cost an arm and a leg. It also powers some systems in BMW, Rolls Royce and Tesla cars.

Now Nvidia seems to be gunning for more business from the likes of Toyota, Chrysler, Ford, GM and Mercedes – Benz.
