Codemasters to reveal F1 2013 today

by on15 July 2013

Next-gen version still unlikely till 2014

Today, Codemasters will be revealing the new version of its F1 franchise, according to a Twitter posting. The confirmation of platforms, as well as details on the new features in F1 2013, are to be part of the announcement.

If you are expecting Codemasters to talk about F1 2013 for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, you are likely to be disappointed, as the developer has previously commented that they don’t plan on delivering a next-generation version of F1 till the 2014 release next year. It is unlikely, we suspect, that they will change their mind at this point, but you never know.

Our sources believe that Codemasters will confirm F1 2013 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, and Wii U. While the Wii U release would be a bit of a risk for Codemasters, we think that the company will likely try a Wii U release, as it has done an F1 release for the Wii since gaining the F1 video game rights.
