In Taiwan

Rather
quicker than expected, Asus' new Eee PC 1000H is already on sale in Taiwan, although we don't know if the supplier has stock as yet or how long you'd have to wait to get one from the time you place the order.

The Eee PC 1000H is listed on PCHome, which is a shopping portal in Taiwan used by a lot of re-sellers and you can find just about anything for sale here.

The model on sale comes with a 1.6GHz Atom N270 processor, 1GB or RAM, an 80GB SATA hard drive and, of course a 10-inch display with a native resolution of 1,024x600. It has three USB 2.0 ports, 10/100Mbit Ethernet, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth, SD card reader, a 1.3Megapixel Webcam and comes pre-installed with Windows XP.

Size-wise, you're looking at 226x191.2x28.5~38mm (WxDxH) and it weighs 1.45kg with the 6-cell 6,600mAH battery which is meant to deliver 3.6h of untethered usage.

You'll have to spend NT$18,988, or about €403/US$625 for the pleasure of owing one of these, which is far from cheap considering that you can pick up a 13-inch MSI notebook with a Sempron 3500+ processor, Nvidia GeForce Go 6100 chipset and a built-in optical drive and otherwise similar specifications for NT$16,888 or €358/US$556 from the same Website.

You can find the listing here, although some of the details seem to be related to the Eee PC 901.
