Shuttleworth claims

Linux
popularizer, Mark Shuttleworth, claims that OEMs are falling over themselves to flog netbooks with the Ubuntu operating system in them.

He said that his Canonical OEM team has been approached by a number of OEMs who want to sell netbooks based on Ubuntu. What they have been going for are standard Ubuntu packages and updates, with an app launcher that’s more suited to new users and has the feeling of a “device” that is a more than a PC.

He likes the AWN launcher, but there is also a popular 2-dimensional tabbed launcher out there. Penning his blog Shuttleworth extols the values of the GPL3 licence which the software is being released under. He added that the netbook remix was not part of the “official Ubuntu editions,” but was a separate remix published by the Canonical OEM team.
