Sony targeting PS4 release in Europe before years’ end?

Confirms that the PS4 is targeted for a 2013 holiday release

Proving that Sony has learned a thing or two from how it did things in the past, sources suggest that Sony could be targeting the PlayStation 4 to arrive in Europe before the end of the year. A wait after the North American launch would not be a good thing, since the PlayStation is strong in Europe.

While the company will not say what its launch plans are we do suspect that we will get more specifics in just a couple of weeks. It has been suggested that Sony will wait to see how much or how little Microsoft confirms in its press conference before it decides how it will finalize its plans.

Sources say that getting the console into all regions before the end of the 2013 holidays would be tough, but not impossible. It is hard to know till we know what the final price is and how much demand there is for the console. It would be difficult to think that Sony would repeat the launch of the PS3, where it was released in November 2006 in North America, but didn’t show itself in Europe till March 2007.
