Finally, something good to be said about an Intel IGP
Multi-media software maker, CyberLink, has announced that its latest version of PowerDVD is currently being used by Intel to demonstrate Blu-ray playback on its latest IGP, the GMA X4500HD.
Of course, the Intel GMA X4500HD is part of Chipzilla's latest integrated chipset, the G45. The new IGP can apparently make short work of HD content, and mini-ITX boards based on the new chipset are already hitting the market. Add HDMI support, a cheap CPU, a pinch of salt and a nice mini-ITX case, and you've got yourself one tiny, yet rather powerful, HTPC.
CyberLink's PowerDVD supports AVCHD, MPEG-4 AVC (H.264) and Blu-ray Discs. It's optimized for Intel's G45 with Clear Video Technology and it's fully compatible with HDMI connectors.
