Danger Close future unknown

by on17 April 2013

If closed, EA will not yet confirm it

Electronic Arts is again in a restructuring mode; and at least for the time being, the company isn’t too keen on answering many questions about what they are doing. Medal of Honor developer, Danger Close, is the latest of the studios that seems to be in limbo. No one can seem to decide whether or not Danger Close is open or has been closed, with EA refusing to comment on the status of the studio.

While EA has issued a public statement saying that they are “sharpening their focus” and “in some cases reducing team sizes,” they don’t get specific on who may or may not be affected by these moves. In the case of Danger Close, it would seem that a number of the developers have since departed the studio over the past several months.

While much fuss has been made about Medal of Honor’s performance and the title missing the mark, we know that the decision has already been made by the publisher that we will not be seeing a new Medal of Honor game anytime soon; it has gone the way of the dodo bird, at least for the near future. That logically seems to cast a big shadow over the game’s developer, Danger Close.

Once the entire restructuring is complete we expect that EA will have to make an announcement about how it has sorted things out. As for Danger Close, its future is unknown.
