Three years for doodling

In a move to clamp down on child abuse, the U.K. is making drawings and computer-generated images of child sex abuse illegal. Justice Minister Maria Eagle said that owners of such images would face up to three years in prison under the plans.

The Obscene Publications Act makes it illegal to sell or distribute photos of child abuse, but currently you can own drawings and computer-generated images.

Apparently, paedophiles are so much in control of themselves that they are using photoshop and drawing on the back of envelopes to get their kicks.

The Justice Minister said that the government has acknowledged that pedophiles may be circumventing the law by using computer technology to manipulate real photographs or videos of abuse into drawings or cartoons.
