Squeezes in the Brazos 2.0 E2-1800 APU

We already had a chance to check out Zotac's quite impressive and extra compact ZBox nano XS AD11 Plus mini PC and we loved it. Zotac has refreshed its ZBox nano XS series with a new model, the ZBox nano XS AD13.

The ZBox nano XS AD11 was a pretty good and impressively small mini PC but was somewhat underpowered with the E-450 APU but Zotac has now covered that basis as well by squeezing in a dual-core AMD E2-1800 APU clocked at 1.7GHz with a Radeon HD 7340 GPU.

The E2-1800 APU is based on the same Bobcat architecture but is a part of the new Brazos 2.0 platform. It has the same 18W TDP and pretty much the same specs as the E-450 APU, 2x512KB of L2 cache, two cores and two threads, despite its 50MHz higher CPU clock and higher clocked Radeon HD 7340 GPU.

The HD 7340 GPU features 80 shader units and it is clocked at 523MHz base and 680MHz Turbo clocks which is somewhat higher than 508/600MHz on the E-450 APU HD 6320 graphics part.

The rest of the specs and outputs are identical to the ZBox nano XS AD11 that we had a chance to review here so you are looking at 802.11n WiFi via USB dongle, HDMI output, two USB 2.0 high-amperage charging ports, two USB 3.0 ports, Gigabit ethernet, one combo eSATA/USB 2.0 front port, 6-in-1 card reader, digital mini-Optical S/PDIF and bundled with MCE-compatible remote and VESA mount

As always, the new ZBox nano XS AD13 will also be available as a barebone version leaving the option for memory and HDD/SSD to you, or as a Plus version with included 2GB of DDR3-1333 SODIMM memory and a 64GB mSATA SSD.

Unfortunately, the price or the availability date have not been announced but we expect it to be priced similarly to the nano XS AD11 that was selling at around €320/US $315 for the Plus version and around €220/US $220 for the barebone version.
