by on01 February 2013

Codemasters announces pre-order bonuses

The much anticipated release of Codemaster’s Grid sequel known as Grid 2 will cross the finish line on May 28th in North America,  while elsewhere will have to wait till May 31st. The developer recently underwent some belt tightening, which had many worried that Grid 2 would end up delayed; but that does not look to be the case. The Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC versions of the title are on track to make the new announced release date.

In addition to the announcement of the release date, the publisher also confirmed that they will have at least three different pre-order bonus packages, depending on where you pre-order the game from. GameStop, Best Buy, and Amazon will all have different offerings, and they are pretty unique, which could make the job of choosing which one to order much more difficult.

Amazon – Head Start pack that includes the Mercedes-Benz SLR 722 GT, as well as discounts for car upgrades, and a special RaceNet bonus.

Best Buy – IndyCar pack, which will include the Dallara IndyCar, plus two additional routes of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Oval circuit and access to a special online event.

GameStop – McLaren Racing Pack and GTE Racing Pack. Will include the McLaren MP4-12C GT3 and two additional routes for the Brands Hatch circuit and five additional routes for the Yas Marina circuit and the Nissan GT-R SpecV car.

It would appear that the GameStop bonus includes the most content, but the other two bonus offerings are unique and will make it hard to decide which one to purchase.
