PS3, XboX 360 and Wii

Greenpeace
, the environmentalist group that all money-hungry corporations love to hate, has announced that Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo are not trying hard enough to eliminate potentially harmful chemicals and metals from their consoles. They reached that conclusion after dissecting and examining Sony's PlayStation 3, Microsoft's XboX 360 and Nintendo's Wii.

Still, all three consoles comply with European laws, but there are certain loopholes that these companies chose to exploit. For instance, the PS3 and XboX 360 contain phthalates, chemicals used to soften flexible materials, and such materials are banned for use in toys in the E.U.. However, and here's the catch, gaming consoles are not classified as toys, so, no problem there – for them, that is!

The consoles also contain bromine and beryllium, and while both Sony, rated quite high on Greenpeace's list, and Nintendo, a company that shocked Greenpeace with their negligence, commented and pledged to do something about it, no one from Microsoft was available for comment.

Too bad, they probably would've gotten away with it if there wasn't for those meddling Greenpeace "kids."
