Amazon buys dpreview.com

Say cheese and cash in on your hobby

Amazon.com has announced today that it has acquired dpreview.com, probably the most comprehensive digital camera review and news page on the web.

In the words of Jeff Bezos, Amazon CEO and founder,“Dpreview.com is by far the most authoritative source anywhere for straight talk about new digital cameras.”

London based Dpreview was founded as a hobby page back in 1998 by Phil Askey, and he said “Now, with the support of Amazon, I’ll be able to devote more of my time to expanding and improving our features – such as product reviews and discussion forums."

We hope the guys at Dpreview will keep up the good work.
