Three people have been charged over a scheme to hack into a computer system of a U.S. restaurant chain to steal credit card data. It is claimed that the three hacked into cash register terminals at 11 Dave & Buster's restaurants at locations around the United States to get credit and debit card information, which was then sold to make fraudulent purchases. The losses were estimated at $600,000.

Maksym Yastremskiy of Ukraine and Aleksandr Suvorov of Estonia have been charged with wire fraud conspiracy and related charges. Albert Gonzalez of Miami was also charged with wire fraud conspiracy related to the scheme. Yastremskiy and Suvorov last May gained access to cash register terminals and installed at each restaurant a 'packet sniffer,' or computer code designed to capture communications between two or more computer systems on a single network.

They stole information from at least 5,000 credit and debit cards. Yastremskiy was arrested in Turkey in July 2007, and he remains in a Turkish jail on potential violations of Turkish law. Suvorov was arrested in March by German officials and remained held pending extradition.
