Asus Padfone 2 coming by the end of December

To start at €799 in Europe


Asus released a few more details regarding the availability and the price of its newly announced Padfone 2 smartphone with tablet-dock hybrid.

According to Asus, the new Padfone 2 will be available in Bulgaria, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and U.A.E. by the end of December. Asus also noted that more countries will be announced at a later date.

In addition to the info, regarding the regional availability, Asus' chairman Jonney Shih revealed at the Milan event that Padfone 2 bundle (smartphone and tablet-dock) will be priced in Europe at €799 ex. VAT for the 32GB and €899 ex. VAT for the 64GB model. Earlier at the Taiwan event, it was revealed that the Padfone 2 price in Taiwan will range from NT$17,990 to NT$21,901 (US$620 to US$750) without the tablet-dock that adds NT$6,000 (US$210) to the price. Of course, we expect Asus to announce the rest of the info regarding regional availability and price pretty soon.
