$500 million it its first week

Criminal action game "Grand Theft Auto 4" made more than $500 million in global receipts its first week in release.

Apparently, the game sold 6 million units and has topped the most lucrative entertainment launch in history, that of Microsoft’s Halo 3. It is worthwhile pointing out that the software made more than the biggest Hollywood blockbuster, "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, "which made $406 million globally in its first six days.

Take-Two is in talks with Electronic Arts, which is trying to buy it for $2 billion, or $25.74 per share.
