iPad mini coming in mid-October

Written by Fudzilla staff

Huge sales expected, unsurprisingly

Apple’s iPad mini could go official in two weeks. CNN is reporting that Apple plans to unveil the diminutive iPad at an event scheduled for October 17.

Rumours of an iPad mini launch in early Q3 have been floating around for months and CNN apparently got the date from a major Apple investor.

Press invites are expected to go out on October 10 and the release date is November 2, which means the iPad mini should hit the market just in time for the holiday shopping frenzy.

Analysts believe Apple could sell as many as eight million units by the end of the year, but the iPad mini launch is also expected to take a toll on iPad 2 sales.
