Dell to fix faulty European keyboard layout

On the Vostro 1310 and 1510

If you're based in Europe and have purchased one of Dell's new Vostro 1310 or 1510 notebooks you might have noticed that the bottom row of the keyboard is shifted to the right, as for some reason Dell messed up on the keyboard design and fitted a too large shift key on the left, which meant that all the keys ended up being shifted one key to the right.

This means that anyone that's even a half decent touch typist wouldn't be able to type on these keyboards; but Dell has responded to the issue and have suspended shipment of the Vostro 1310 and 1510 until they get the problem fixed.

For those unlucky enough to already own one of these notebooks, Dell is offering to send out an engineer to swap the keyboards on-site, or if you feel your technical skills are up to it, you can just have a new keyboard shipped and replace it by yourself.

We suggest you contact your local Dell customer support if you own one of these notebooks to find out the specific procedure on how to get your keyboard replaced.
