Frontlines 1.03 patch now known as 1.10

Has started internal testing at Kaos

Kaos has provided an update on the PC patch for Frontlines Fuel of War that indicates that the studio has started testing internal builds. As we told you here the patch was to originally be known as version 1.03, but with the massive amount of changes that will be a part of this patch Kaos has decided to bump the version up to 1.10.

Many challenges do exist with this patch for Kaos, including the first integration of Punkbuster into the 1.10 patch which, of course, is a big challenge for any developer. In addition, Kaos plans more extensive testing of the new server browser which has been one of the weakest parts of FFOW since the release of the game on the PC platform.

Kaos is still hopeful that they will be able to continue to make the release of the 1.10 patch for the PC sometime toward the end of this month. The timing of the release could be important for Kaos, as DICE is expected to be cranking up the public beta for the 1.50 patch for Battlefield 2142, which appears to hold much promise with the announcement that they will be brining the popular Wake Island map to the Battlefield 2142 universe.

Frontlines continues to complete for many of the same players as the Battlefield series draws, and with both releases so close together players may have a difficult time choosing which one to invest time in playing.
