Kindle Fire and Fire HD hit mainland Europe

Written by Fuad Abazovic

Austria, Germany, France, Spain and more

UK consumers will not be the only ones to get hold of Kindle Fire and Kindle Fire HD. It turns out that most of the Europe, at the markets where Amazon usually ships, will get the hold of these new tablets.

Even small markets such as Austria will get the new Kindles. Of course, the big players like Germany, France and Spain will get the tablet at the unified EU price. The Kindle Fire with upgraded hardware will sell for €159, with local VAT included, while the Kindle Fire HD will sell for €199 for 16GB and €249 for 32GB.

Unfortunately, even if you order a Kindle Fire or Kindle Fire HD today, Amazon.de tells you that the official availably is expected as of October 25th, some six weeks from now and in order to get one on that day you should better preorder today. However, since the original Kindle Fire never showed up in Europe, a six-week wait doesn’t sound all that bad.

The new Kindle Paperwhite ebook reader is not something that is currently available for Europeans, but they can order the plain Kindle for €79, Kindle touch for €129 or Kindle Keyboard 3G for €159. European customers can be happy that in 2012 they can get some Google Nexus 7 as well as Kindle Fire HD love.
