Intel drops prices on dozen parts

Core i3 and Pentium Ivy Bridge debut

Intel has a tradition of releasing a new price lists on Sunday and last Sunday, September 2nd also got us a new price list that shows quite a few price cuts.

It starts with introduction of two new processors in the Core i5 league, called Core i5 3350P and Core i5 3330, clocked at 3.1GHz and 3.0GHz respectively. The Core i5 3350P debuts for $177 while the Core i5 3330 starts at $182.

We have noticed that Ivy Bridge Core i3 chips making their debut in this price, list including Core i3 3240 at 3.4Ghz and $138, Core i3 3225 at 3.3Ghz and $134, Core i3 3220 at 3.3Ghz and $117.

The Core i3 2130 32nm has also dropped from previous $138 to new $117, a nice fifteen percent price drop. Core i5 3335S at 2.7GHz also launches at $194 while Core i5 3333S and 2.7GHz core clock debut at $177. Both of them are 65W TDP parts.

Core i3 3240T and Core i3 3220T launch at $138 and $117 respectively. Both are dual cores with four threads and still at 32nm but 35W Amazon rainforest loving parts. The Pentium G2120 also debut at $86 while Pentium G870 drops to $75 or thirteen percent down. Furthermore the 2.6GHz Pentium G550 drops from $52 to $42, a 19 percent price drop.

The Pentium G2100T, a 2.6GHz dual-core clocked processor debuts at $75 while G645T 2.5GHz shows its face for $64 and G550T 2.2Ghz clocked for $42. All are 32nm dual cores with two threads at 35W TDP. The new Intel Celeron G465 clocked at 1.9GHz with one two and two treads debuts for $37 and is still based on the 32nm architecture.
