Archos slashes G9 tablet prices by up to €50

Written by Peter Scott

Deal of the Day: 10 inches of ICS goodness for €199

Although it’s often overshadowed by bigger players, Archos has managed to gain a toehold in the tablet market by offering competitively priced devices and pretty good build quality.

As the company is planning to ship its new Archos 101XS Gen 10 tablets shortly, a price cut for the old G9 seemed in order. As of September 1, you can pick up a G9 101 tablet for less than €200, which is a good deal in our book, but a G9 Turbo for just €10 more sounds like an even better deal.

The Turbo features a dual-core OMAP 4 processor clocked at 1.5GHz, 1GB of RAM and comes in 8GB and 16GB versions. Of course, a microSD slot is also on board, so expansion shouldn’t be an issue. The tablet also features GPS, Bluetooth, mini HDMI and runs Ice Cream Sandwich.

Thanks to the price cut, the G9 Turbo is currently the cheapest 10-inch 1280x800 tablet in Europe, which makes it our deal of the day.
