Nexus Cover 7 still not shipping

Written by Fuad Abazovic

Coming soon for $19.99

Despite the fact that the first batch of Nexus 7 tablets has left Google, the overpriced Nexus 7 cover is still not available.

This ridiculously expensive piece of plastic can currently be purchased for $19.99 in the US, here, but it won’t ship until the hopefully near future. If you don’t have a US based address you won’t be able to see the item listed.

The cover is only available in Dark Grey and it’s not even confirmed that it has a magnet that was talked about last week.

Google advertises the device by saying that it will “protect your device with the soft, lightweight, matte-finish travel case made just for your Nexus 7 tablet (8GB and 16GB compatible). The Nexus 7 cover allows simultaneous charging and headphone port access while keeping your device secure.“

Expansys, a UK based company offers a cover that covers the back of the tablet for reasonable GBP 3.49 pounds or some 5.5 USD and it will ship in less than five days, with a hint that Expanys doesn’t have Nexus 7 in stock.

The other available accessory is a 2 amp Nexus 7 Charger that sells for $24.99 and it will ship in one to two weeks. These prices leave us with a feeling that Google wants to emulate Apple when it comes to pricing its accessories.
