Microsoft sues mother
Used our name in vain
Microsoft is suing an outfit run by a Dutch mother for using a Microsoft domain name in her software aimed at curbing children's use of the Internet.
Microsoft Netherlands claims that Unicaresoft Corporation, headed up by 46 year-old Carola Eppink, is in violation of intellectual property rights in using theMSN brand. Eppink's software enables parents to limit the time their children spend surfing and in chatrooms and helps parents to check out Internet sites which their children visit.
Originally, the program had been called MSNLock, but it was changed to Benzoy after Microsoft pressure. However, apparently that was not enough for legal eagles at Microsoft who want the software changed, as well.
