Wastes no time with Virtual Console announcement

As we told you recently, Interplay looks to be on the rise again since the sale of the Fallout 3 license to Bethesda and the re-opening of its in-house development studio. As we told you, Interplay will be focusing on some of the franchises that were already successful before the likely development of something new.

Interplay announced today that it will be putting the final touches on the Sega Genesis versions of Interplay classics Earthworm Jim, Earthworm Jim 2, Boogerman, and Clayfighter offerings for the Wii’s Virtual Console. While the exact dates of release have not been announced, it will be before the year is over, for sure.

Keeping Interplay in the “black” is priority one for the company, as they want to make sure that the company looks good on paper to potential investors in the company’s future projects that will, of course, require financing.

The titles that the company has chosen for release on the Wii Virtual Console environment were cornerstones of some of the best offerings on the Genesis platform and are likely to do very well with little risk for Interplay.
