New LucasArts FPS is coming

Written by David Stellmack

Recruiting has apparently started

LucasArts is apparently planning a new first person shooter title. While it is anyone’s guess what it might be, the company is hiring for a number of positions to develop and optimize the title for both current and future generation consoles.

While four positions have appeared so far, we can’t really tell much about what LucasArts might be planning; but we know that it will be powered by Unreal Engine 3 and the developers have to be proficient in UnrealScript.

Logic says that it is most likely a Star Wars title, and that will surely bring all of the Battlefront 3 and Republic Commando rumors back once again. While it would be nice to see one of those titles make it for another going around, it might be more likely that it could be something such as another entry in the Force Unleashed series, for example.

Still, LucasArts has a number of good options, and they could even be doing something brand new. We will just have to wait and see.
