Evolutions sets new one-day sales record

Written by David Stellmack

Highest grossing day one sales in XBLA history

While Microsoft has not talked about the sales numbers of the just-released Trials Evolution, thanks to a posting by Red Lynx we are now hearing that the game has set a new record for the highest one-day gross sales in Xbox Live Arcade history.

While we know that the game has sold over 100,000 units, exactly how many they have sold remains a bit of a mystery; but we believe that the game is successful because it is very well done and a lot of fun to play. (This is a lesson that many recent XBLA releases could learn from, because there have been a lot of less than stellar releases as of late.) The 100,000 unit number comes from a look at leaderboards, talk when the online leaderboards servers were not working and some of the news surrounding that.

Developer RedLynx has taken a good concept and gone one even better with the latest release. The accolades that the game is earning are well deserved, and we have to wonder what the developer will do for an encore.
