Archos rolls out ICS update for G9 tablets

Written by Fudzilla staff

Shows big players how it’s done

Archos might not be the first name that comes to mind when you think of Android tablets, but the outfit recently announced an ICS update for its flagship G9 tablet.

The OTA update apparently started rolling out over the weekend and it is nothing short of embarrassing for some major vendors who have failed to sort out their own ICS update.

The Archos G9 is an affordable 8-inch tablet with a dual core OMAP 4 processor at 1.2GHz and up to 16GB of storage. You can pick one up for under €250 in some EU markets, which sounds like a fair deal for an ICS tablet, although we are not sure about the design.
