Asus confirms Android 5 dubbed Jelly Bean

It will be the first to ship one using it


Asus has confirmed that the name of Android 5.0 as being Jelly Bean and thinks that it might be the first one to ship a device based on it.

Benson Lin, Corporate Vice President has been in the press lately saying that Asus is very close to Google, so once they have Android 5.0 he thinks there will be a high possibility that it will be the first wave to offer the Jelly Bean update. Google has been giving out bowls of Jelly Bean at the company's booth at Mobile World Congress but so far has said nothing.

Asus was the first to produce a tablet with Honeycomb and the first to get Ice Cream Sandwich on a table. It is believed that Jelly Bean could have a dockable desktop mode, like Ubuntu for Android and that it would come in the second quarter of 2012, just in time for Google's I/O developer conference.
