1.03 BF3 Patch for PS3 fixes VoIP

by on07 February 2012

DICE fixes the issue once and for all

Using the VoIP communication on the PlayStation 3 version of Battlefield 3 has been a problem since the launch of the game. While DICE has known about the problem since the release of Battlefield 3, the developers have been hard at work trying to find the root of the problem and build a patch that not only addresses, but finally fixes the issue.

The patch that DICE has been able to produce for the PlayStation 3 version of BF3 fixes the VoIP issues at last. Checking in at about 11MB to download, those who thought that this might also include the February update/patch that DICE has already talked about will be disappointed; from our understanding this patch only addresses the VoIP issue on the PlayStation 3 version DICE is still on schedule to deliver a February update/patch, which is also expected this week and will likewise arrive on the Xbox 360.

The 1.03 patch has already been rolled out in some regions, but has not hit others yet. If you can’t get it yet, expect it in the next day or two.
