Faster than Acer's Ferrari?

We've managed to secure some additional information about Asus's upcoming Lamborghini VX3 notebook and it looks like it'll be a scorcher that Acer's AMD powered Ferrari notebooks will have a hard time keeping up with.

It will come with a Core 2 Duo T9x00 series processor, although the speed might vary depending on market, but we'd expect to see the T9300 in Europe, at least. The chipset is the Intel PM965, which leads us to the discrete graphics chipset which comes from Nvidia in the shape of the Geforce 9300M GS with 256MB of memory.

As the VX3 has a 12.1-inch display, it's not hard to see why it has a fairly low-end graphics card, but it should still prove to be superior to integrated graphics. It's also expected to come with up to a 320GB hard drive and up to 4GB of DDR2 system memory. Bluetooth 2.0 and 802.11a/b/g/n WiFi will also be part of the package, as well as a built-in HSDPA modem with EDGE support in areas without 3G coverage and a Webcam.

It doesn't have a Blu-ray drive, at least not in the standard model, but it does come with a super multi DVD writer. It also has HDMI out, four USB 2.0 ports, an Express Card 54 slot, a memory card reader, a headphone and mic jack, 3.5mm S/PDIF out, a Gigabit Ethernet connector, a D-sub connector and a good old fashioned 56k modem jack. You can have a look at the port layout on the picture below.

What we don't know is how much it will weigh or exact measurements, but it will come with a Lamborghini branded Bluetooth mouse, mouse mat and bag. It will most likely be quite expensive, as well, but at least this time around, Asus seems to have a winner on its hands, especially as the VX3 will be available in both yellow and black.
