The amazing Star Wars R2D2-themed Xbox Special Edition with the C3PO gold controller is now rumored to be on tap for release in April. Apparently, the new Star Wars Xbox was spotted recently on the set of a certain television show ahead of its apparent release.

The Star Wars themed console was delayed due to the delay on the Kinect Star Wars title. The Kinect Star Wars title was to be bundled with the console; so we have to think that unless plans have changed, an April release of the console also means an April release for Kinect Star wars.

Don’t expect to hear anything more about this till at least CES, and maybe not even then. So far, Microsoft has not commented on the rumors, as we know that they don’t engage in such things.
