Lots of excellent deals this year

While all of the retailers are trying really hard this year to get part of the video game pie, if you want a console this is the year. The best deal of the lot is the Best Buy $199 Holiday Bundle deal on the Xbox 360.

The Best Buy $199 Xbox Holiday Bundle deal includes the 250GB Xbox 360 slim console with one wireless controller, wired headset, Fable III, Halo Reach download voucher, and three months of Xbox Live Gold. While you can buy the holiday bundle from other retailers, only Best Buy is cutting the price by $100 on Black Friday. None of the other console deals, in our opinion, come close to this one.

If you want to spend less than $199, then you need to check out the Target Xbox 360 slim 4GB deal. For $139, you get the Xbox 360 slim console, one wireless controller, and a wired headset. No games are included, but this makes an excellent replacement or second console. Should you not be able to get one at $139 at Target, Kmart is offering the same package, but for $149. You might give them a try if you are willing to pay the additional $10.

For the hottest Xbox 360 exclusive titles this holiday season, you have to look no further than Forza 4 and Gears of War 3. Those are the two big exclusive titles this holiday season; and you can beat the $60 price tag by picking up Gears of War 3 at Walmart for $28. Forza 4 can be had for $27 at Target.

PlayStation 3 fans will be looking for their two hot exclusive titles this holiday season, which are Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception and Killzone 3. You can beat the $60 price tag on these with Uncharted 3 at Best Buy for $29.99 and Killzone 3 for $28 at Walmart.

As for multiplatform titles, there are a number of good deals to be had, depending on what you want and how much you are willing to pay. One of our favorites is the choice of Dance Central 2 or Kinect Sports 2 for $15 at Walmart. Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure Starter Pack is available for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and the Wii. The 360 and PS3 versions can be had at Kmart for $49.99, while you can pick up the Wii version for $49.99 at Walmart.

Assassin’s Creed: Revelations for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 is another hot title that you can snag for $34.99 at Best Buy. Batman: Arkham City and Battlefield 3 can both be had at Walmart for $28, which is a great savings over the $60 retail price tag. If you missed L.A. Noire for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 you can pick this excellent title up at GameStop for $20, which is an excellent deal. While at GameStop if you have not played Borderlands, do yourself a favor and pickup the Game of the Year Edition for Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 for $20, as well.
