Xbox.com to get a facelift

Written by David Stellmack

Will be upgrading a number of things

Microsoft says that in conjunction with the upcoming dashboard update, they will be giving the old Xbox.com a much needed overhaul. The overhaul will include major upgrades to the social and video functionality.

Users will be able to search and buy titles from the Zune market directly from the web site. This includes both buying and renting titles. Microsoft will also be upgrading the social media features within Xbox.com.

Perhaps the feature that everyone is talking the most about is the new “beacons,” which allow users to find their friends online. Users will be able to drop a beacon that can, for example, suggest a time and place to play. Each title will have a separate page and you can see all of the beacons that are set for your and your friends on that title.

See more on the updates coming to Xbox.com here.
