No open beta for CSGO

by on01 November 2011

Pro-gamer feedback the reason why

Those that have been waiting for the October open beta for Counter Strike: Global Offensive will be disappointed to learn that Valve’s Chet Faliszek has now officially confirmed that it isn’t happening, at least not in October.

According to Faliszek, Pro-gamer feedback has led to the delay while the development team addresses issues and feedback from this testing. Once these issues have been addressed or resolved, then the beta will be back on track.

The plan for the beta remains unchanged, with initially 10,000 testers to be in the beta when it kicks off. After evaluating feedback from the initial beta it will be decided how to next proceed.

Counter Strike: Global Offensive is still planned for release on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. A Mac version is also likely, but will come after the other versions launch, according to our sources.
