Creative hits ZEN with Stone

$40 for audio nirvana

Creative
just realsed its iPod Nano competitor, for a mere US$40. The Creative ZEN Stone offers 1GB of built in storage space for your music collection and will play MP3, WMA (non-DRM content only), WAV and Audible book files. It weighs in at a mere 25 grams and measures 5.3 x 3.5 x 1.3 cm (W x H x D) which makes it a very pocket friendly player indeed.

It is screen less, just like the iPod Nano and you can play your tracks either in standard play mode or in random mode, much like the Nano's shuffle mode. With 10h of battery life from a single charge it should offer enough play time even for the longest commute to work or even a long haul flight, but there are players with better battery life out there.

The ZEN Stone charges via the standard mini USB connector and this is also how it interfaces with your PC. It also has a 3.5mm audio jack for your headphones.

Finally the ZEN Stone will be available in six different colors, although black will make its appearance first. For more info, visit the Creative website here
