NFS: The Run Demo to arrive soon

Written by David Stellmack

Out for download on October 18th
We have been able to learn that Need for Speed: The Run which is powered by DICE’s Frostbite 2 engine will get a demo prior to release that will arrive on October 18th for both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

The demo will offer two levels of play, which are said to be Desert Hills, California and Independence Pass, Colorado. The demo will offer a bit of a taste of the Autolog technology that will be such a big part of this title.  It will come with the Lamborghini Gallardo LP550-2 Valentino Balboni for players to drive; and it is possible to unlock the 2012 Porsche 911 Carrera S if you refer a friend to download the demo, which we are told is very easy to do.

The game release itself is still on track for November 17th for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo Wii, and the PC platform. The choice of release date for the NFS: The Run is interesting, considering that Forza 4 on the Xbox 360 comes out the week before the demo arrives for download. The October 18th timing is very intriguing.
