Claims World's thinnest and lightest
It took some time but Creative's ZiiLabs team has finally released its reference 10.1-inch tablet based on the Jaguar3 platform with either ZMS-20 or ZMS-40 SoC chips.

The new reference tablet runs on Android 3.2 OS and, for starters, features ZiiLabs' ZMS-20 chip based on two 1.5GHz Cortex-A9 cores and paired up with 48 StemCell Processing cores. As noted, the same design/platform also supports the quad-core ZMS-40 SoC as well that features 96 StemCell Processors.

As far as the specs go, the Jaguar3 design is 8.1mm thick and features a magnesium case that makes it less than 480g heavy. ZiiLabs team also noted that Jaguar3 can also support a razor-slim 7.4mm design as well at a slightly higher mechanical cost.

The rest of the specs and features include a dual-camera system with support for up to 12 megapixel rear facing cam and HD front one, 10.1-inch 1280x800 multi-touch capacitive screen, dual-microphone array, Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi audio, dual-channel 802.11bgn WiFi, 1GB LP-DDR2 or DDR3 memory, HDMI 1.4 output with mirroring and a fully independent dual-screen support, Adobe Flash 10.x acceleration, OpenGL ES 2.0 3D graphics, and much more.

The ZiiLabs Jaguar3 design kits should start to sample in October 2011 and we hope that we'll see them in retail/e-tail soon.
