Batman: Arkham City was a close second on the anticipated title chart, with the latest Uncharted franchise instalment also featuring. In a statement Simon Kilby, Founder of Playr2.com said that searches for video game titles yet to be released on site are a good way of gauging interest in a game.

Gaming fans are desperate to see previews or news about the titles that they’re most looking forward to being released. Quarter 4 is always a popular time for big-name releases, particularly given its proximity to Christmas, and that’s certainly the case this year with some of the year’s big name titles due for release, he said.

He added that it wasn’t surprising to see the latest instalment to Call of Duty topping the search statistics, particularly given how popular Black Ops proved to be when it was released in 2010. “People are clearly eager to find out anything they can about the title, suggesting that it may very well prove to be a huge hit, once again, upon release,” Kilby said.
