Acer shows its new Aspire S3

Previosly seen in some European shops, Acer has now officially announced its Aspire S3 ultra-thin 13.3-inch notebook.

Packed tightly in a 13mm thick and 1.3kg heavy magnesium-alloy casing, the new Aspire S3 will feature Intel's ULV Sandy Bridge Core i3, i5 or i7 processors, up to 4GB of memory and either a HDD or SSD drive. As noted, it has a 13.3-inch 1366x768 glare-type screen. The connectivity options includes 802.11bgn WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, USB ports and HDMI output.

As far as the features go, Acer is promising that this one will need 1.5 second to get out of sleep state and 2.5 seconds to connect to network as well as a special cooling that is designed to put heat out of palm rest, trackpad and your lap. According to Acer, the battery in this one should be enough to keep it running for up to seven hours depending on the SKU configuration.
