Blu-ray galore

Yesterday
, Sony announced two new Blu-ray players, the BDSP-S350 and the BDSP-S550. The players will support Blu-ray Profile 2.0, which enables certain interactive features such as BonusView (picture in picture) and BD-Live.

The players will hit the shelves this autumn and will cost about US$400, but we can't quite say it's a bargain, since a simple firmware upgrade to your PS3 will be sufficient to view content using these new features.

At the price of a PS3 console it makes us wonder whether these are really worth your hard earned cash. But then again, not all of us like to play games, but the PS3 can do a lot more than just that.
