MSI has announced its second gaming notebook that will be powered by Nvidia's Geforce GTX 570M graphics, the 15.6-inch GT683DX.

Based on Intel's Huron River platform, the GT683DX features a 15.6-inch LED-backlit 1920x1080 screen and packs Intel's Core i7-2630QM 2.0GHz CPU and the Nvidia Geforce GTX 570M graphics card with 1.5GB of memory. The GT683DX is a heavy-weight class notebook tipping the scale at around 3.5kg. It features MSI's Turbo Drive Engine and Cooler Boost to further overclock and cool this beast. Of course, MSI threw in the ECO Engine as well, which should improve battery life.

In addition to the Core i7 2630QM CPU and the Geforce GTX 570M graphics, the GT683DX also comes with support for up to 16GB of DDR3 1066/1333 memory in four slots, up to two 750GB HDDs or a SSD/HDD combo, DVD or Blu-Ray optical drive, Gigabit LAN, 802.11bgn WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0, two USB 3.0 and two USB 2.0 ports, eSATA port, card reader, HD webcam, 2.1ch Dynaudio speakers and a 9-cell 780mAh battery.

To ensure that this is an enthusiast gaming notebook, MSI also included some fancy details like the special palm rest, nickel-plated trim around the touchpad, glowing white MSI logo, color print/scratch resistant coating and MSI LED light show.

MSI didn't announce the price of the new GT683DX but there will be several SKUs depending on the amount of memory, HDD/SSD and optical drive choice.
