The U.K. government is to order ISPs to switch off the accounts of those people who file share illegally.

According to the BBC, a draft consultation suggests ISPs would be required to take action over users who access pirated material via their accounts. The move will potentially turn an estimated six million people into criminals and deny them Internet access.

It would also turn ISPs into police agents and require them to use policing powers, something that they do not want.
